Defendant: Ilir Ugrinaj (DOB 06/03/1991)
July 11, 2018 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Ilir Ugrinaj of Yonkers has been charged with assaulting and menacing a Yonkers Police Officer in April. He was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury and was arraigned Tuesday before Judge George Fufidio on four charges related to an incident April 10, 2018.
The specific charges are:
- Menacing a Police Officer or Peace Officer, a class D felony
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D felony
- Assault in the Second Degree, a class D felony
- Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor
On April 10, 2018, police responded to a domestic violence call and when officers arrived at Browning Avenue and Mildred Street, Yonkers, Ugrinaj was brandishing a switchblade. The indictment alleges he menaced the officers and injured one of them.
Ugrinaj has been remanded to County Jail and is scheduled to return to court July 31, 2018.
